Upping the ante on dance coverage and conversation

Eleanor Goudie-Averill



 Eleanor Goudie-Averill is a 2007 MFA Dance Performance graduate of the University of Iowa and currently  dances for Group Motion and Tori Lawrence + Co in Philadelphia.  She teaches Modern Dance technique at Temple University and Ballet at the Wissahickon Dance Academy.  Since 2007, she has co-directed the Stone Depot Dance Lab, a collaborative team of performing, visual, and sound artists whose mission is to create honest and experiential dances.  (www.stonedepotdancelab.wordpress.com) Her choreography has been shown in NYC at RAW Material, the DUMBO and Cool NY Festivals and Triskelion Arts; in Philadelphia at The A.W.A.R.D. Show!, Group Motion’s Spiel Uhr, INhale Series, Norristown Dance Festival, and Philly Fringe 2010-12; and throughout the Midwest.  Ellie has danced in works by Jose Limon, Bill Young and Lucinda Childs, and has danced for SCRAP Performance Group, Alie & the Brigade and Kayle and Company.   She began her training at Ballet Midwest in Topeka, Kansas, holds a BFA in dance from the University of Kansas and has served as Visiting Professor of Ballet at Bucknell University and Franklin & Marshall College.
