Cynthia J Williams
Cynthia J Williams is a Professor of Dance at Hobart and William Smith Colleges where she teaches modern dance technique, dance history, improvisation, dance composition and FY seminars. She holds a MFA in Dance from Connecticut College and a BFA in Dance and a BS in Psychology from the University of Utah and is a Certified Evans Teacher in the Bill Evans Laban Bartenieff based dance pedagogy. Cynthia co-directs the annual Somatic Dance Conference and Performance Festival in Geneva, NY and is a member of the New York State DanceForce. She has been a featured performer in the choreography of Claire Porter and Bill Evans and is pursuing certification in Body Mind Centering. Recent conference presentations and papers have been on contemporary choreographers Camille A Brown, Jane Comfort, David Dorfman, and Doug Varone. Cynthia is working on a book on choreographer Jane Comfort.
