Ellen Chenoweth



Executive Director

Ellen Chenoweth is the Director of Development and Communications for Pig Iron Theatre Company.  Before coming on board at Pig Iron, she was a freelance cultural worker, working with clients such as  the American Dance Institute, David Brick/Headlong, and Christopher K. Morgan & Artists. She has taught as an adjunct instructor at Drexel University and Temple University.  She  has completed two augmented reality (AR) installations, one providing additional content for the  George W. Bush Presidential Library, and one exploring Philadelphia's  cultural history.

Ellen worked for 4 years at the Dance Exchange in Washington, DC. She was instrumental in the organization’s transition when its founder, Liz Lerman, left the company, and served as managing director for two years following the transition. Ellen has an MA in Dance from Texas Woman’s University and a Graduate Certificate from the Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance at Wesleyan University.
